Gil Amsallem – Bamboo Massage, the newest rage in Europe, Asia and the USA. The spa industry is waiting for the next big thing, and Les Nouvelles Esthétiques, is delighted to give the spa conference delegates the first look at the next big thing to hit the industry scene, since hot stone therapy —bamboo massage, the newest rage in Europe, Asia and the USA. The bamboo massage is regarded as a body, face and limb massage that incorporates bamboo stalks of varying lengths and diameters to provide drainage, relaxation and reshaping, simultaneously. Bamboo symbolizes suppleness and resilience, straightforwardness and simplicity; and the massage satisfies two major needs: relaxation and well-being.
“From the tips of the fingers to the base of the thumb, the hand is an absolutely perfect ‘system’ for massage. But when an accessory extends our fingers or gives our hands new ways of expression, we enter a new dimension—that of sensory massage,” says Gil Amsallem, a kinesiotherapist with 24 years of experience, the creator of the “sensory massage” concept, and also an industry educator who demonstrated the technique at the recent International Congress of Esthetics in Paris, France, Cosmoprof Asia, Hong Kong, International Congress of Aesthetics, Brazil and now Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Conference, South Africa. Francoise Perier – Spa Secrets from around the World An international spa expert, with focus on spa tourism and wellness programs, for over 20 years, having worked with organizations such as South African Tourism and Department of Tourism, Germany. Francoise is a regular contributing writer to Les Nouvelles Esthetiques. Francoise shares her wealth of knowledge from traveling to spas throughout the world in her presentations on Spa Tourism and Spa Secrets from around the World – a not to be missed presentation.
Jean Pierre Demeerlaere (France) A highly respected leader within the International Spa Industry. Jean Pierre is often referred to as the Spa Consultant of International Choice, specialising in exclusive spas for luxury hotels, cruise ships and large urban centres such as 7 spas for the Hotel Ritz Carlton in the USA, Hotel Costes Paris - France, Oxygéne Beauty Centre - Sweden, Grand Hotel Sauerhof - Austria, to name but a few. Deon de Wet (USA) A certified Thai Yoga and Massage Therapist, as well as a qualified Anusara style of Hatha Yoga teacher. Deon has worked closely with the International Dermal Institute and has written many international articles based in Thai Yoga for the spa, health and wellness industry. Oded Rose (Israel) Oded Rose is Vice President Marketing and Sales of Pollogen Ltd, a world leader in medical-aesthetics professional equipment. Oded brings over twenty years of industry and academic experience with him. Amongst others Oded was the founder and owner of the largest spa in Israel and served on the boards of directors of several medical equipment and biotech companies as a manager of a venture capital fund focused on life sciences. Oded earned a Masters of Science in Medical Research from Tel Aviv University School of Medicine and an MBA from the Wharton school of business, University of Pennsylvania.
Joanne Mazzitelli (France) Joanne Mazzitelli has had over 20 years of experience in the cosmetics field. A trained Beauty Therapist, Joanne obtained her qualification in England, prior to joining the Steiner Company to work onboard some of their luxury liners. Joanne later moved to France, where she furthered her degree with a French Diploma in Beauty Therapy, and began working for the Payot beauty salon, Place Vendôme. Joanne was promoted to International Trainer and then Training Manager for the Payot brand after a number of years of working with the brand. Joanne’s skills, knowledge and abiloity to speak 3 languages later led her to being presented with the opportunity to move to the Thalgo Cosmetic Company, where she is the International Trainer Co-ordinator.
Michael Spaetlich (Germany) Michael Spaetlich is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, and is thus a wealth of knowledge when it comes to technological developments. Michael, has worked many years within the sunbed/tanning industry and used to work as a Sales director for Soltron GmbG, a member of the JK Group. Michael was later promoted to work for JK Sales, a company under the umbrella of the JK group as the Marketing Manager for the export divison of the company, responsible for the Ergoline and Soltron brands.
